At Money Savvy Community NPC the non-profit arm of the Money Savvy Group our core mission is to create sustainable financial empowerment where it matters most. Recently, we had the privilege of bringing that mission to life by hosting a transformative financial workshop for 150 inspiring women entrepreneurs.
These women are far more than business owners; they are the lifeblood of their local economies, single-handedly driving micro-enterprise, supporting extended families, and lifting up entire communities. To equip them with the tools needed to build lasting financial independence, Money Savvy Community partnered with two dedicated sponsors who share our vision for economic growth and empowerment.
Strategic Partnerships Driving Local Impact

Creating meaningful change requires strong collaboration. This workshop was made possible through the combined effort and sponsorship of moneywithcarla.com and the Department of Economic Development:
- moneywithcarla.com: Carla generously provided the financial funding required to host and execute the workshop for all 150 participants. Her vision and commitment to real-world financial literacy were central to shaping the key concepts covered throughout the day.
- The Department of Economic Development: Serving as an essential local partner, the Department facilitated the recruitment of the women business owners and provided a dedicated, accessible venue to accommodate everyone comfortably.

By uniting public sector outreach with private initiative, we ensured that this practical training reached the women who needed it most.
From Consumers to Owners: What We Covered
The primary objective of the workshop was to establish a solid foundation for long-term wealth creation. Rather than focusing solely on day-to-day budgeting, the curriculum guided participants through a holistic journey from mindset shift to tangible investment tactics.
Key pillars of the training included:
- Money Mindset and Core Values
Understanding that financial choices start in the mind. Participants explored how personal values and goals influence daily decisions, enabling them to make clear, confident financial choices for their families and businesses.
- Practical Saving and Investing Strategies
Equipping entrepreneurs with practical tips and strategies to consistently grow their capital, manage cash flow, and protect their hard-earned income.
- Shifting from Consumer to Owner
A central message emphasised by Carla was moving beyond a consumer mindset. Participants learned how investing allows individuals to step into ownership owning equity, building assets, and participating directly in economic growth rather than just funding it through spending.
- Community Collaboration and Co-op Banking
To foster collective strength, the workshop introduced actionable guidance on how groups of women can form co-op banks and pooled financial structures, allowing them to leverage shared resources, fund local projects, and support one another’s business expansion.

The Ripple Effect: Transforming Families and Communities
When you empower a woman entrepreneur with financial education, the benefits extend far beyond an individual balance sheet. The 150 women who took part in this workshop are already implementing these strategies to strengthen their enterprises, manage risk, and create scalable wealth.
By instilling an ownership mindset, practical investment knowledge, and community-driven banking concepts, Money Savvy Community and our valued partners moneywithcarla.com and the Department of Economic Development are helping to pave the way for sustainable prosperity and financial resilience across South Africa.
